Opportunities

(updated 7/23/24)

Postdoctoral

I am interested in working with a postdoc with a background in economics whose research interests align well with mine (see my publications and current research projects). The postdoc position advertised in Spring 2024 has been filled. However, I would be happy to advise a postdoc who has a fellowship or other funding sources. Please feel free to reach out to me.

Graduate

I can supervise graduate students in the dept. of Forest Ecosystems & Society (FES), Applied Economics (AE), or any other depts as long as I can contribute to your degree completion. The application process is different between FES and AE. Please check out application materials and deadlines in FES and FAQ page in AE for details.

Students with any background can apply but those with an economics background are particularly encouraged to apply. You will complete all requirements in AE and can have a Ph.D. in Applied Economics. Please apply for the AE program directly, indicating your interest in working with me.

I am open to supporting internal or external fellowship applications from prospective postdocs and students at any level if (s)he is interested in having me as an adviser. Please feel free to email me with detailed information about you and the fellowship opportunities.

Contact guidelines

Please understand that I am most likely unable to reply to all emails that I receive from potential students (so sorry!). Before you send an email, please read at least one of my recent first-authored papers and have a good understanding of my research. When you send an email (suhyun.jung@oregonstate.edu), please send me

1. A short description of your background and career objectives.

2. A brief one-paragraph summary of an idea (research question) that you want to pursue

3. Reasons you chose FES/OSU and me for supervision

4. Your most updated CV as an attachment
